A gravel side road on the right leads to Schwabacher Landing, where a short walk north along a side channel reaches a large beaver dam and a pond that reflects the central Tetons on calm mornings. The road closes seasonally, and a vault toilet is at the lot.
A landing most boats can't use. Watch the right side for the gravel road to Schwabacher Landing. It's under a mile in, and you'll turn right when you come back. It closes seasonally, so it may be gated. Skip it, and Glacier View Turnout is a little over half a mile past this road, also on your right. There's a vault toilet at the Schwabacher lot. Boats launched here once, until the river shifted away. Watch for moose, which the park says were rare or absent here before nineteen twelve, and numerous only by nineteen fifty. From the lot, walk about three hundred and fifty yards along a side channel to a big beaver dam. On a calm morning the pond holds the central Tetons.
