Good Hart — a stop on the Tunnel of Trees.
Blink and you will miss Good Hart, which is a village consisting of essentially one very good store, a post office and a church.
The Good Hart General Store is the heart of it and you should stop. It has been operating in some form for well over a century, it is the only real provisioning between the two ends of this road, and it has a genuinely serious reputation for its pot pies — which sell out. There is a fudge counter, local goods, and a post office window in the back where people have been collecting their mail for generations.
The village name is an anglicisation — this was Middle Village country and the names here layer up: Odawa first, then French, then English, often all describing the same place.
This is also about the halfway mark, so it is the natural place to break. Get out, stretch, buy something. In autumn the queue goes out the door and nobody minds.
One practical note: parking is limited and it is right on the road. Pull in properly, and mind the traffic coming round the bend when you open your door.
